UTTLESFORD Council has secured an interim High Court injunction against further development at the Willows Green unlawful traveller site.
Notices about the injunction were placed on gates and fancing at the site late yesterday (May 7 2026).
It has been served on one of the landowner, Irish traveller, Anthony Mongan and persons unknown.
Anyone who breaches the injunction could face prison for contempt of court.

Uttlesford Council had earlier said in a statement: "Uttlesford District Council is aware of the alleged unauthorised development on land near Willows Green and understands the concern this has caused locally. Officers are working at pace to assess the activity on site and gather evidence before considering the full range of enforcement options available. Given the potential actions that may follow, we are limited in the detail we can provide at this stage, but we want to reassure residents that the situation is of paramount importance and that appropriate action may be taken in line with our statutory powers."
