Got or story or think something needs investigating: Contact UK News and Investigations in strict confidence
You can contact UK News and Investigations with tip offs and other information in strict confidence.
For complaints or any issues with content on this website please also make contact.
Occasionally we get requests for removal of articles from subjects who appear in them, particularly those relating to court reports.
UK News and Investigations does not remove court reports. The reason for this is in the UK we have an Open Justice Principal which says in order to be done "justice must be seen to be done."
Unless a judge imposes "reporting restrictions", the media are free to report on cases heard in open court as they choose.
Media reports are the main way this is achieved and with dwindling resources at newspapers and other media, less court reporting is being done. UK News and Investigations often publishes court reports that are not printed anywhere else.
So, we won't remove court reports, which become a matter of public record, and have to be consistent and fair concerning anyone mentioned in any of our reports.
However, occasionally a court report may not be up to date over time if we have missed the conclusion.
If this has happened, please make contact and we will happily update the report.
We will also consider publishing a right to reply from anyone included in our reports, within legal restrictions.
So if you committed an offence and learned from it and have moved on, why not get in touch with some comments about how it changed your life.
In short, own your court history, don't shy away from it - it's part of what makes you who you are today.
