Woman critical after falling from window

A MAN arrested after a woman was left in a critical condition after falling from a window was later released.

Police were called at around 9.20am on Saturday to reports that a woman had fallen from a window at a property in Plymouth. Police did not say how many floors the woman in her 20s had fallen, but that she was taken to Derriford Hospital in a critical condition and her next of kin were informed.

Detective Inspector Esther Gould said: “Officers will also be present conducting house-to-house enquiries.

“We have arrested a 35-year-old man from Plymouth on suspicion of false imprisonment and he remains in police custody."

He was later released without charge with no crimes detected.

Det Insp Esther Gould said: "The woman is still in a critical condition in hospital and our thoughts are with her and her family.

"The scene guard has been removed from the property and we would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation to the local community whilst we carried out our initial enquiries into the investigation."
