WATCH VIDEO: Huge police and ambulance response to report of 5 people brawling on Westminster Bridge

A HUGE police and emergency services response including armed units was filmed at Westminster Bridge on Friday night.

The Met Police has said the response was to a "group brawl" of approximately five people on the bridge and it is urgently trying to trace a number of people.

However, there were claims from posters on X that it was a "terror attack" that was "covered up", which has been vehemently denied by the force.

A force spokeswoman said: "Police were called at 10:54pm on Friday, November 24 to reports of a group of people fighting on Westminster Bridge.

"Officers attended and carried out enquiries in the area. No one with injuries was located.

"One male matching the description of a person involved in the incident was detained inside Westminster Underground Station under the Mental Health Act and was taken to hospital for treatment.

"Urgent enquiries are ongoing to trace a number of people in connection with the incident.

"An investigation continues and witnesses are asked to call 101 quoting CAD 8129/24Oct."
