THIS is the dramatic moment a police officer tasered a man who was running by a live electrical train track to try to flee after telling rail staff he had a gun.
The shocking scenes, which were caught on camera, unfolded at the Docklands Light Railway platform at Stratford station in east London on Sunday afternoon.
The man went down onto the tracks after he was approached by police officers who were called by concerned TFL workers.
In a clip, posted on Facebook, three officers watch in shock from one side of the platform, as the man rolls about between live tracks, and commuters watch in horror.
One of them warns: "You are going to get electrocuted. Stay still."

The officer aims a taser at the man and tells him again to "stay still" and to "keep your hands where I can see them."
But, he continues to move and shake his arms.
The officer says: "Look at me. Look at your chest. Look at the red dot on your chest. Keep your hands out of your pockets and remain still. If you reach for something, I will taser you."
The man is repeatedly warned to stay still and that he will be tasered, but that officers will come down and help him.
However, he attempts to stand up, and tries to flee in one direction, then turns and limps off in the other, as the officer tells him "don't run away."
The officers, and two others on the other side of the platform, follow him, and one jumps down onto the tracks just behind him.
It is then that the officer still on the platform appears to taser him.
A woman shrieks as a discharge is heard and the man appears to convulse and flail on his back on the ground next to the track.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Officers were called to Stratford DLR station at around 4.20pm on 23 August after a man told station staff that he had a firearm.
"When officers approached the man he entered the tracks. Police taser was discharged after the man refused to listen to officer's requests for him to stay still for his own safety.
"Officers worked with staff, paramedics and the London Fire Brigade to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.
"The man was taken to hospital as a precaution and later arrested on suspicion of trespass, endangering the railway and a public order offence before being taken into custody."
Police did not say if a firearm was recovered, but he was not arrested for being in possession of one.
Services were suspended while the incident was ongoing.
