VIOLENT UK: Man charged with attempted murder after girl, 15, stabbed in broad daylight

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a schoolgirl was stabbed in the street in a broad daylight attack.

The teenage girl, aged 15, is in a stable condition after suffering injuries following an attack in Middlesbrough.

Emergency services rushed to Premier Road at around 3pm on Thursday and found the girl seriously hurt.

She was taken to hospital where she is recovering.

A man, 23, was arrested.

Detectives said the suspect is believed to be known to the girl.

He was later charged with attempted murder and remains in police custody.

Cleveland Police said it is not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.

A spokesman for the force said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information or was in the area at the time and has not yet spoken to Cleveland Police, is asked to get in touch.
