VIDEO: Woman in hospital 10 days after car hit 3 pedestrians on pavement - police witness appeal


A WOMAN remains in hospital and police are appealing for witnesses after three pedestrians were struck by a car that mounted a pavement during a crash.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) at 11:11am on Thursday, 16 February to reports of a road traffic collision at Ilford Lane, Ilford. Officers, London’s Air Ambulance and LAS attended. At the scene a Toyota Yaris and a Ford Fiesta had collided. One of the cars mounted the pavement injuring three pedestrians.

A Met Police spokesman said: "The pedestrians, a 31-year-old man and two women aged 47 and 68, were taken to an east London hospital where the injuries of two patients were not life threatening. "The 68-year-old woman remains in hospital in a serious condition. "Both drivers stopped at the scene. There were no arrests. "Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who witnessed this incident should call police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC quoting 2533/16FEB."

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.10am on Thursday 16 February to reports of a road traffic collision on Ilford Lane.

“We sent three ambulance crews and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated three patients at the scene before taking them to hospital.”
