POLICE Federation of England and Wales (PFEW) CEO Mukund Krishna has been sacked two months after his arrest on suspicion of corruption.
Mr Krishna, 46, (above - Police Federation) who pulled in more than £700,000 a year as the chief executive of the staff association, a post specifically created for him, of the police staff association, had his contract terminated on Sunday, it has emerged.
A PFEW spokesperson said: “Mukund Krishna’s employment with the Police Federation of England and Wales came to an end on 31 May 2026.
“His basic salary, without bonus, was paid up to that point. He will not receive any further payments. A process to appoint a permanent chief executive will begin in due course.”
Mr Krishna was arrested by officers from the City of London Police and later bailed as part of an investigation into alleged financial wrongdoing at the federation and he vehemently denies the allegations.
The federation, which represents more than 145,000 rank-and-file officers, said it was fully supporting the "complex" police investigation
The investigation came after details of his remuneration were made public after years of campaigning due to secrecy around his whopping pay packet.
Mr Krishna defended his pay and time at the federation.
He said: “I am proud of everything that we accomplished during my time as chief executive of the Police Federation of England and Wales. I worked tirelessly on behalf of the more than 145,000 officers this organisation represents.
“Under my leadership, the Federation secured a 16 per cent pay rise over three years for front-line officers and recovered more than £150 million in compensation for members.
“We increased revenues, and reduced litigation liabilities from more than £110 million to less than £40 million, putting the organisation on a sound financial footing.
“Furthermore, we invested significantly in victim and witness support initiatives and the development of federation representatives, and built strong foundations from which to professionalise the organisation.
“I am proud of that record and the difference it made to the lives of serving police officers across England and Wales.
“I vigorously deny the allegations made against me. At all times I have acted with integrity, in accordance with the rules and governance of the organisation, and followed advice. I am confident that, in time, I will be entirely exonerated.”
