Police chopper over Broomfield Hospital in search for missing person

A POLICE helicopter hovered over Broomfield Hospital and the surrounding area for 40 minutes while officers searched for a missing person.

A spokesperson for the National Air Police Service (NPAS) said: "At 8:30pm on Tuesday 3 November 2026, a police helicopter crew from NPAS North Weald was deployed to the Chelmsford area to assist Essex Police in a missing person search.

"The total flying time on the task was 40 minutes."

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "It was a missing person who, thankfully, was subsequently located safely. We didn’t have the person out as an appeal to the public."

No details of the age or sex of the person have been released.
