Police appeal for witnesses after three men attacked near Oak House - one reportedly 'knocked out and on the ground'

POLICE have appealed for information about an attack in which three men were injured near the popular Oak House bar in Maldon.

One man was reportedly knocked to the ground and had to be treated on the floor close to the venue, according to onlookers who posted on a local Facebook group.

Revellers at the bar continued to drink as paramedics and police attended the scene, it was said.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called just before 11.45pm on Saturday 8 August 2026 to reports of an assault on the High Street in Maldon.

"An ambulance was sent to the scene and transported one patient was transported to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and treatment.”

An Essex Police spokesperson added: "We were called at 11.40pm on Saturday 8 August to reports of a disturbance at High Street, Maldon where three men were injured.

"There have been no arrests yet and our enquiries continue.

"Anyone who has information or footage of the incident is asked to contact us and quote incident 1778 of 8."
