Utah Governor Spencer Cox king said the death penalty will be sought for the killer of Conservative activist Charlie Kirk as new footage of the assassin making his escape was released.

Mr Cox branded the killer "evil" and said he would be caught, but the public's help was needed to snare him at a news conference at just before 20:00 local time in Utah (3:00am UK) today.

It comes after further pictures of the person of interst in the murder were released yesterday, September 11 2025.

The FBI has released a $100,000 reward for information leading to the gunman's arrest.

The suspect was on the roof of a building before the single shot was fired at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, before he jumped down off the building before fleeing into nearby woodland where a firearm has been found.
