Man in court accused of escaping from HMP Sudbury in Derbyshire - Connor McCarthy case adjourned
A MAN has been charged with escaping from custody while at an open prison.
Connor McCarthy, 26, of no fixed abode, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today (Saturday, April 23).
He faces one count that on February 22 this year, while at HMP Sudbury, near Ashbourne in Derbyshire, being in lawful custody, he escaped.
The charge can only be dealt with at crown court, so the case was transferred to Isleworth Crown Court and adjourned until May.
No plea was entered and McCarthy was remanded into custody.
