KILLED BEFORE CHRISTMAS: Man, 19, charged with the murder of Courtney Boone, 20, 2 days before Xmas
A MAN has been charged with the murder of a young woman killed two days before Christmas, who has been named as Courtney Boone, 20.
Liam Cain, 19, of Skipton Road, Anfield has been charged with her murder.
He has been remanded into custody and will appear in court on Wednesday, December 28.
Courtney was found in a critical condition at a flat in a tower block on Quarry Green in Northwood, Kirkby, just after 4.40pm on December 23.
It was after Merseyside Police received a report of a disturbance inside a property
She was taken to hospital but despite the efforts of emergency workers, she was sadly pronounced deceased.
The woman’s next of kin has been informed and a post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.
An investigation has been launched and a cordon is in place on Quarry Green while extensive CCTV, house-to-house and forensic enquiries are carried out.
Detective Inspector Laura Lamping said: “Our thoughts first and foremost are with the victim’s family today.
“We are in the extremely early stages of this investigation and our officers are working to establish exactly what happened.
“While we have already made an arrest, our enquiries continue in the area and we would appeal to anyone with any information on this tragic incident to please come forward and speak with our officers.
“If you were on Quarry Green at around 4.40pm this afternoon and witnessed or heard anything suspicious, then please get in touch. Any information you hold could be vital to our enquiries.”

Following the death, a GoFundMe was set up for the family of Courtney. The fundraiser said those who knew her were in "total disbelief."
