JUST ANOTHER MURDER: Man in his 20s stabbed to death in Tottenham is London's latest victim

A MURDER investigation has been launched following another stabbing in London, this time in Tottenham.

Police were called at approximately 4pm today, Monday February 22, to reports of a man, believed aged in his 20s, stabbed in West Green Road, Tottenham.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Officers and London Ambulance Service attended but despite the efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"His next of kin have been informed.

"A crime scene remains in place on West Green Road and local residents will see an increased number of officers conducting high-visibility reassurance patrols in the area.

"There have been no arrests and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing."

London is bearing the brunt of the UK's knife crime epidemic, with victims, usually aged in their teens or early 20s found stabbed on the streets most weeks.

The attacks are usually linked to gang and drug activity and often follow spats on social media.

Despite the regular deaths, the Met recently said knife crime was down on previous levels.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD4438/22Feb.
