Intense helicopter search over Maldon as police looked for missing woman

A WOMAN was safely found last night after a dramatic helicopter search over Maldon.

A police helicopter was seen circling and hovering across both ends of the town, including the promenade and River Blackwater areas from early evening until it was announced she was safely found at around 9pm on August 18 2025 and the search was called off.

Essex Police had earlier launched an appeal to help find a local woman, aged in her 30s, after concerns for her welfare.

A spokesman for the National Police Air Service (NPAS) said: "On Monday 18 August 2025 at 8:02pm, a crew from NPAS North Weald attended an incident in Maldon, Essex for reports of a high risk missing person. A search was completed with a large area cleared for Essex Police."
