UPDATE: Five people injured in knife attacks are arrested for violent disorder at early morning 'industrial estate party' attended by 300 people

FIVE people stabbed at what is thought to have been a party on an industrial estate in the early hours of today have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

It is not clear if the Met Police is looking for anyone else in connection with the attacks but the force is "investigating any wider involvement."

A force spokesman said: "Officers investigating a violent incident in Thamesmead on Saturday, 17 May 2025 have made five arrests.

"Police were called at 4:19am to Nathan Way, Thamesmead, SE28, following reports of multiple people injured at a music event.

"Officers were supported by the London Ambulance Service and five people were taken to hospital with stab wounds. Three of the victims sustained injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"Two other victims are still undergoing medical assessment."

Those in hospital, aged 22, 24, 24, 31 and 32 have been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder.

Detective Inspector Steven Andrews, who is leading the investigation, said: “Officers responded quickly to provide medical assistance to the five injured people alongside the London Ambulance Service and ensure the safety of around 300 people, who were at this music event.

“The five men who have been injured have been arrested for violent disorder and we continue to work to establish any wider involvement.

“There will be a continued police presence on Nathan Way throughout today while we continue this investigation.

“We encourage anyone with any information to contact police to assist with enquiries.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 4.17am on Saturday 16 May to reports of a stabbing in Nathan Way, SE28.

"We sent resources including ambulance crews, paramedics in response cars, an incident response officer, advanced paramedics and London's air ambulance.

"We treated three patients at the scene before taking them to hospital."

A scrap metal boss, whose business is on Nathan Way, posted on Facebook: "The yard will be closed today. Overnight there has been multiple stabbings outside and subsequently the police have closed the road in both directions.

"They have advised me that the road will be closed for the rest of the day. Apologies for the inconvenience, I hope to see you all again soon."
