First picture of Givani Espuet - knifed to death in Brent - as man is charged with his murder

A MAN has been charged in connection with the murder of a man in Brent who has been named by police as Givani Espuet

Theo Simon, 33 , of Gladstone Avenue, Wood Green, was charged on Monday, 31 October, with murder and possession of an offensive weapon. He will appear in custody at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, 1 November.

Police were called at 1:50am on Sunday, 30 October, to reports of a stabbing at outside a restaurant in Harrow Road, Sudbury.

Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. A 21-year-old man was found with stab wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he died a short time later.

He has been identified as Givani Espuet from north London. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

A post-mortem examination will take place on Tuesday, 1 November.
