EXCLUSIVE: Romanian homeless man wanted for attempted murder back home found in UK

ree

A ROMANIAN man wanted in connection with an attempted murder in his home country has agreed to be extradited there.

Ianis Elisei Marinica, 22, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court today when the court heard he is wanted in Romania for the offence of attempted murder.

Marinica did not oppose extradition and was remanded into custody so a flight can be arranged.

No address was recorded for him at the court.

He was remanded into custody due to the "nature and seriousness of the offence, his lack of community ties, the likely sentence if convicted and due to him having no mobile phone or address."

Marinica is the latest in a long line of people from eastern Europe, and more recently from Middle Eastern countries found in the UK, who are wanted by European countries for the most serious of crimes, including rapes and murders.

Most go unreported, but UK News and Investigations will report on as many of these cases as we can.
