EXCLUSIVE: Romanian fugitive who went on run again jailed after being caught again five years later

A ROMANIAN fugitive who went on the run after being caught hiding in the UK from a minor offence in his homeland has been jailed for 12 weeks after being caught again five years later.

Vasile Negrei, 49, of Regents Park Road, , north London, absconded in August 2015 after being bailed by Westminster Magistrates' Court during extradition proceedings.

He was arrested last week and brought before the court on Saturday.

A record of the case said he consented to be extradited in custody, but it does not detail the offence or offences he is being extradited for, but it was a non-imprisonable summary offence.

However, he will first have to serve a 12-week sentence in the UK for skipping bail five years ago.

The court record said he had to be jailed because the offence: "So serious because flagrant failure to attend. missing/wanted for five years."

On Saturday Czech national Milan Sivak, 35, also consented to extradition to his home country where he is wanted to connection with an assault.

The 35-year-old was arrested in the West Midlands area.

Romanian Adrian-Vasile Suciu, 32, was arrested in the Merseyside area and brought before the court on Saturday.

He was remanded in custody while he fights extradition.

He is wanted for fraud and drink driving.

Polish national Piotr Pawel Wojdyga, 30, is wanted on European Arrest Warrant from Slovakia to serve a sentence for four offences of supply of drugs and one offence of possession of drugs with intent to supply that he has been convicted of.

He was remanded in custody ahead of an extradition hearing.
