EXCLUSIVE: Police swamp street after four armed men storm house and stab occupant before stealing car and other items


FOUR armed me who bust into a home and stabbed one of the occupants before stealing a car were still at large today.

The drama unfolded at 12:46am on Tuesday, April 9, in Middleton Gardens, Ilford.

An eye witness, who was in the area at around 1:15am, said: "There were eight police cars and two gun units. Police were knocking on all the doors in the street. In the morning there was still a police car on the drive where it happened and they fingerprinted the front door."

A Met Police spokeswoman said: "Police were called to a residential property in Middleton Gardens, Ilford at about 12:46am on Tuesday, 9 April following reports of an aggravated burglary.

"It was reported that four unknown men armed with weapons broke into the property and stole various items including a car.

"One of the two occupants suffered a number of injuries as a result of the incident, including a stab wound to the leg.

"Officers attended and the victim was taken to hospital for treatment. 

"The suspects had fled prior to police arrival.

"At this stage no arrests have been made and urgent enquiries continue."
