EXCLUSIVE: Police probe after man's body is pulled from the River Thames


POLICE are investigating the "unexpected" death of a man whose body was found in the River Thames.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Police were called at 10:22am on Friday, October 13, after a member of the public found a body in the river near to Keeper Wharf, Narrow Street, Limehouse.

"The police marine unit also attended. The body of a man was recovered.

"Formal identification of the person awaits. However, police believe they know the identity of the person and are supporting the family

"The death is being treated as unexpected and is under investigation.

"A post-mortem examination will be held in due course."

A witness told Essex News and Investigations he saw several officers surrounding the covered body on a beach.
