EXCLUSIVE: Court case concerning man charged with 'offences intended to benefit Russia' is shrouded in secrecy after counter terror arrest

A MAN has been charged with committing offences concerning acts "intended to benefit the Russian state" in a case that has been shrouded in secrecy for national security reasons.

Yesterday, Saturday April 20 2024, a man appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court after he was arrested by Counter Terrorism officers from the Met Police.

A strict court reporting restriction prevents details of the man's name, age or address being published.

Even the charges he faces cannot be published other than to report that he has been charged with "offences under the National Security Act 2023 in relation to activity intended to benefit Russia."

The man was remanded into custody and the case was adjourned to be heard at the Old Bailey next month.
