Electric bike rider sought by police after hitting woman as they tried to flee from officers

AN ELECTRIC bike rider is at large after being in collision with a female pedestrian after he tried to flee from police.

The rider fled on foot, after leaving the bike at the scene, in Green Lane, Dagenham, east London, on Friday.

A Met Police spokesman said: "At approximately 5:50pm on Friday, 19 January officers on patrol in the vicinity of Green Lane, Dagenham indicated for an electric bike to stop.

"The bike made off from police and almost immediately was in collision with a female pedestrian. The rider made off from the scene on foot and enquiries continue to locate them.

"London Ambulance Service attended and the woman, aged in her 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment – her condition is not life threatening.

"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

"The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed."
