EXCLUSIVE: Drugs search of car in middle of day in Maldon High Street

A MAN was arrested on suspicion of drug supply in Maldon High Street.

Essex Police officers carried out a full search of a silver vehicle at the lower end of the high street, near the junction with Victoria Road, on Wednesday, October 15 2025.

Onlookers reported seeing items pulled from the car, including a child seat, and the bonnet pulled up, while a young man was questioned, just before 3pm.

An Essex Police spokesperson said: "Officers from the Chelmsford and Maldon Local Policing Team stopped a car at High Street, Maldon, shortly before 3pm on Wednesday 15 October.

"A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in drug supply.

"He has been released on bail until 14 January 2026 while we carry out further enquiries."
