THE death of a woman who fell from a bridge on the North Circular at Chingford is not being treated as suspicious, police said.
The Met Police was called at 8:46pm on Thursday, August 14, to reports that a woman had fallen from a bridge on the A406, Chingford, north-east London.
Police and the London Ambulance Service attended, but, sadly, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Met spokesperson said: "Her death is not being treated as suspicious at this time. A file will be prepared for the coroner."
The incident created major traffic jams and tailbacks as the emergency services attended on the busy road and police investigated, including door-to-door enquiries.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.46pm on 14 August to reports of a person who had fallen from a bridge on the A406, Chingford.
“We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. “Sadly a person had died at the scene.”
