BREAKING NEWS: Two people shot including teenager in separate firearms attacks in London

Police are investigating two firearms discharges just over an hour apart in London today (April 29 2025).
In the latest incident a 17-year-old boy was shot in Tottenham.
Police were earlier called at 2:42pm following reports of a gunshots heard in Upton Lane, E7, Newham, north-east London.
Officers were joined at the residential property by London Ambulance Service where one person was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound.
The man has been conveyed to hospital where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening. The London Ambulance Service also treated two other people for head injuries.
Two people have been arrested in connection with this offence with one remaining in hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
Chief Inspector Daryl Jones from North East Command said: “We are aware that this shooting on a residential street this afternoon would have had an enormous impact on the local community.
“We are pleased we've been able to make two arrests and recover a firearm within hours of the incident.
“Any residents with concerns, please speak to the officers at the scene, or to your local neighbourhood policing teams.”
A cordon remains in place while police undertake enquiries, which are ongoing.

There was a second shooting in Tottenham just over an hour later.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a suspected shooting in Penshurst Road, N17, Tottenham, north London, at 4pm on Tuesday, 29 April.
“A 17-year-old boy was treated at the scene for a gunshot wound by the London Ambulance Service. He was later taken to hospital where he remains. His condition is unknown at this time.
“No arrests have been made at this stage. Penshurst Road is closed while initial enquiries take place.”
The Met Police has been asked if the incidents are thought to be linked.
