Arrest after stabbing and shooting near Valentine's Park Ilford

A MAN was stabbed and another was shot with a pellet gun during an attack in Ilford today.

Officers rushed to Milton Crescent, Gants Hill, shortly before 2pm on today, Thursday September 4 2025, where they found two men injured.

A 41-year-old man had suffered a stab wound and a 35-year-old man had been hurt by a pellet gun.

Both were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where their injuries were confirmed as not life-threatening or life-changing.

A suspect, a 33-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

He is also in hospital with injuries sustained during the altercation, although the severity is not yet known.

Emergency crews, including London’s Air Ambulance, were called to the scene.

Three patients in total were taken to a major trauma centre.

Police said they believe the incident was isolated and no other suspects are being sought.

A crime scene remains in place while enquiries continue.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm following an altercation in Ilford.

“Police responded to reports of gunshots in Milton Crescent, Gants Hill at 13:52hrs on Thursday, 4 September. Upon their arrival they found two men suffering with injuries – a 41-year-old man was treated at the scene for a stab wound, and a 35-year-old man was treated for wounds caused by a pellet gun. They were taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service following the incident, where their injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening or life-changing.

“The suspect is also in hospital for injuries sustained during the altercation. The severity of which are yet to be confirmed.

"Officers believe this is an isolated incident and are not looking for any other suspects. A crime scene remains in place while initial inquiries are conducted.”
