Alleged National Action member accused of possessing illegal shotgun and cosh and inciting hatred


EXCLUSIVE: AN ALLEGED member of far right group National Action has appeared in court charged with having an illegal firearm.

Richard Osborne, 53, from Solihull, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court yesterday (Saturday, January 14).

He was arrested on Thursday and charged with possession of a 12 gauge calibre shotgun without a firearms certificate.

He was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon, a cosh, in public.

Osborne was also charged with publishing on January 12 this year written material which was threatening,

abusive or insulting intending to stir up racial hatred and a separate charge of publishing a National Action video in September.

He denied all four charges and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on a date to be set.

National Action was launched in Warrington in 2013 and has been a proscribed organisation in the UK under the Terrorism Act since December 2016.
