These are images or videos that show children being sexually abused or subjected to sadism and can even involve animals.

Ismail will be sentenced at a later date.

He also has to report the prosecution to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), the watchdog for the profession.

According to the SRA website he has been a solicitor since September 2013.

His last place of work was with Nat West Bank, according to the SRA website.

An SRA spokesman said: “We are aware of the issue, and await conclusion of proceedings before gathering all relevant information and deciding on appropriate action.”

A Nat West spokesman declined to comment.
