IN-DEPTH: Shocking image shows man fighting for life in crashed car after broad daylight gun attack

A MAN lies bloodied and unconscious after the car he was in crashed when he was shot in broad daylight on a British street.

The Albanian (pictured above) is just one of at least seven people shot in London since Wednesday, two of whom died.

He was shot in a car in Barking on Thursday afternoon.

The latest shooting was in the early hours of this morning when police were called at approximately 12.40 am to reports of man suffering gunshot injuries in Askew Road, Shepherd's Bush, west London.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Officers, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance all attended the scene, but despite the efforts of the emergency services, the man – believed aged in his twenties – was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.26 am.

"Enquiries are underway to locate and inform next of kin."

No arrests have been made.

A separate murder investigation was launched after a fatal shooting in Hackney, north London, on Friday.

Although formal identification has not taken place, police are satisfied that he was Oluwamayowa Adeymi, known as Samson, 21, from Hackney.

Officers were called at about 11.30 pm on Friday, 5 June to reports of shots fired in Brackenfield Close.

The spokesman said: "London Ambulance Service also attended and found Samson suffering gunshot injuries outside an address he had just left.

"Despite the efforts of medics and officers, he was pronounced dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.

"A post-mortem examination revealed cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest." The murder is being investigated by homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Considine said: “Following initial enquiries we know that there were people in Brackenfield Close at the time of the shooting. I would urge those people, and anyone else who has information that could progress this investigation to get in contact immediately. “This is a tragic incident that has resulted in the loss of a young man’s life and has left his family and friends devastated. If you can help us find those responsible, then please get in contact.”

Central East Borough Commander Marcus Barnett said: “We understand this is a concerning time for Hackney residents but please be assured we have increased our resources in the borough and are providing support to the investigation team.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim and his family during this devastating time for them.

“Get in touch with us if you see something or know something about a crime that has either happened or might potentially happen – your information can save lives.”

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and was released on bail to return on a date in early July.

The shocking image of the man blasted in the car was taken a day earlier.

Armed police were called at around 2.14 pm on Thursday, June 4, to Wilmington Gardens, Barking, in east London, following reports of shots fired.

They found the two men injured, one critically, still in the vehicle.

A Met Police spokesman said: "Officers located two males, both in their twenties. One of the males had suffered gunshot injuries and has been taken to hospital - he is in critical condition.

"The other male has also been taken to hospital; his condition is not thought to be life-threatening. He did not sustain gunshot injuries."

No arrests have so far been made, meaning the would-be killer or killers remain at large.

Video taken by a witness shows the black car, that appears to have hit a front garden wall, smashed up on the pavement.

A white car facing in the opposite direction has also crashed into a wall.

Even in rough and ready Barking the scene staggered locals.

A man who recorded the video that was uploaded to social media says on the recording: "Look he's been shot through the window.

"Can't believe it I'm in shock. This is in Barking guys. This is real - it just happened now."

Barking is home to an Albanian gang called the Hellbanianz, who record their own rap music videos, and post images on social media that suggest they have made extreme wealth and cash through the drugs trade.

A number of the gang of men, largely in their twenties, have been in prison in the UK and are the children of immigrants who arrived into the UK in the late 1990s, many claiming to be Kosovan refugees.

Thursday's shooting happened in the road which is 500 metres from the notorious Gascoigne estate, which is gradually being rebuilt, and was where most of the Albanian families were housed.

Albanian gangsters have been spreading their criminal networks across the UK in recent years.

It is not known if the shot man or his passenger are connected to the Hellbanianz.

Many Albanians are appalled by the reputation the minority who have chosen a life of crime have developed and what it does to their community.

One posted alongside the video: "The Albanian boys in England are lazy to work in honest way and on their mind, it is one thing just to sell drugs.

"This is what happens to you on the end of drug deals. I am feeling sorry for his family I hope the rest will learn the lessons that life is not a movie or adventure. Do work honestly not think to get rich in one year with drugs”.

The shooting was less than 24 hours after four people, including a two-year-old child, were shot in Energen Close, Harlesdon, west London, at 9.45 pm on Wednesday.

A lone gunman sprayed bullets in a sickening attack.

The child, who was shot in the neck, and a man were left in critical conditions while another man and a woman, the child's mother, were also shot, but not left with life-threatening injuries.

The grandmother, who was also there escaped injury.

The victims, who are all related, were stood in the street when a lone gunman fired multiple shots and at a nearby car.

He is believed to have made off on a motorbike.

It later emerged the child's father Aaron Youngsam, 29, was charged with gunning down rapper Craig Small, 32, in September last year.

Shocking video showed him being fatally shot outside a row of Wembley shops last July.

But a case brought against him and co-defendant Courtney Ellis, 34, was dropped due to a lack of evidence.

Craig’s death has seen several violent clashes between gangs in the Harlesden area.

North West Borough Commander Roy Smith, said he is working with the Met’s Trident team and specialist detectives.

“This violent incident in itself is shocking but even more abhorrent is the fact that one of the victims is a young child. We are doing all that we can to bring these criminals to justice.”

He added: “We want to hear from anyone who might have any information which could help the investigation no matter how insignificant they feel it is.

“As a child is battling for their life I urge everyone in the local community to support us by coming forward with any information that will help us make arrests.”

Det Chf Insp Rick Sewart, of the Met’s Trident team, said: “As result of this terrible crime an innocent two-year-old-boy is now seriously ill in hospital. This child was shot in a wanton act of indiscriminate violence. I know that people will be shocked and horrified that a little boy should be the victim of a gunman and I need the community to show their support for him, and his family, by telling police what they know.”

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on June 5 and was later bailed pending further enquiries.

Just over 24 hours earlier at, about 6 pm on Tuesday, police were called to Church Road, Northolt, west London, to reports of a man with a firearm and the sound of gunshots.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch. In particular, they are asking for help to identify three men who fled scene.

A Met spokesman said: "The men were described as black and wearing balaclavas. They were seen chasing another man, believed to be the victim, before shots were fired inside a takeaway restaurant. They fled the scene down Church Road."

No victim was identified and there were no reports of any injuries and no arrests were made.

DI Dan McInerney, leading the investigation, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard what happened on Church Road. This happened in broad daylight and on a main road. If you were in the vicinity and have any information, no matter how small, please do get in contact.”
