VIOLENCE: The Met Police launched yet another murder probe after the man was shot
A TEENAGER was today shot dead in broad daylight in a car park.
Met Police detectives launched a murder investigation after the man, believed to be in his late teens, was fatally shot in Plumstead, south east London.
Police were called to a car park in Hartville Road at 4.54pm. Armed police, local officers, London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended. A Met Police spokesman said: "The man was found with critical injuries and died at the scene a short while later. "Police are working to notify his next of kin as soon as possible. "A post-mortem examination will be held in due course. Formal identification awaits." The Met's Homicide and Major Crime Command will be leading this investigation in close partnership with police in Greenwich. The spokesman added: "Local residents can expect an enhanced police presence in the area. "No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."
Traffic was affected in the area according to reports on Twitter. The spokesman added: "A large crime scene remains in place and police are appealing for anyone with information on what happened to call them urgently on 101 quoting CAD reference 6004/14June. "Anyone with information can also call Crimestoppers anonymously via 0800 555 111."
