MURDER: Police outside house in Handsworth where woman was injured and later died (Birmingham Live)

POLICE are investigating the separate murders of two people attacked in their own homes.

A man, in his 50s, was found dead at a property in Warwick Street, Bury, near Manchester, on Friday, just before 12.30pm after paramedics were called there.

A man aged 38 was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remained in custody yesterday.

Detective Inspector Andy Naismith said: “We are working to find out what happened in the moments before he was found dead, so that we can give his family the answers they deserve."

On Thursday an unlinked murder probe was launched in Albert Road, Handsworth area of Birmingham after a 44-year-old woman died in hospital.

She was found with serious injuries a day earlier in her home.

Police have called it a domestic incident and a 36-year-old man was arrested and released on police bail.
