Essex Woman, 60, who stashed crack up her privates face jail for drug dealing

JAILED: But street dealer Rahman Hassan could be out of prison in under two years

A WOMAN who hid two bags of drugs in an intimate area during an Essex Police crackdown on 'county lines' drug gangs is facing jail for dealing.

Street dealer Maureen Doyle, 60, from Broomfields Court, Pitsea, Basildon, Essex, was arrested in October when the force carried out a string of raids in the south of the county as part of a national operation targeting county lines drugs gangs.

On October 12, 2018, officers executed a warrant at her home at around 3.10pm. While searching the address, they found a bag containing eight wraps of heroin and 16 wraps of crack cocaine on a neighbour's balcony.

She was taken to custody and searched.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "It was while in custody that it was discovered that she had hidden two bags of drugs within in an intimate area.

"Doyle has admitted possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine and being in possession of criminal property."

She is due to be sentenced at Basildon Crown Court in July.

Also arrested during the Operation Raptor South operation was Rahman Hassan, 31, of no fixed address.

Officers found a bag containing heroin and cocaine at her property where he was staying.

At Basildon Crown Court he received three years and nine months in prison for possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine and possession of cannabis after he previously admitted the offences.

The total amount of drugs seized was 44 wraps of heroin and 65 wraps of crack cocaine.

PC Adam Blackwell, of South Operation Raptor Team, said: “A bag containing a large amount of drugs was found on a neighbour’s balcony after Hassan and Doyle attempted to hide their drug dealing activities.

"Doyle also had a large amount of drugs on her person with a total of 109 wraps of class A drugs seized along with cash and equipment associated with the supply of drugs.

“Hassan will now face the consequences of his drug dealing ways in a prison cell with Doyle likely to receive a custodial sentence next month.”
