EXCLUSIVE: Murdered 'glamorous' pensioner was 'madam' who once ran seedy TV brothel venue

June 13, 2018

SEEDY: City Sauna from the TV documentary and (inset) Jill Hibberd.

A PENSIONER stabbed to death in her home once ran a 'TV brothel' that featured in a major documentary, Essex News & Investigations can reveal.

Jill Hibbered, 73, was found dead with multiple knife injuries in her lounge in a rented new build in Wombwell, Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

It was reported that the "glamorous businesswoman who drove sports cars and looked 20 years younger" told neighbours she was a divorcee who ran a beauty salon six days a week.

However, we can reveal she was involved in running seedy illegal brothels in Sheffield for a number of years.

Mrs Hibberd is still listed online as the propriertor of Club 160 in  Attercliffe Road, Sheffield.

It was in the same building that is now known as City Sauna, which featured in the popular Channel 4 documentary A Very British Sauna.

BROTHEL: The 'City Sauna' made famous on documentary A Very British Brothel previously Club 160.

The programme followed mum and daughter brothel owners Kath and Jenni and the prostitutes that worked for them at the dingy-looking premises on the steel city's so called "golden mile of sex" due to its numerous sex parlours.

The pair took over from Mrs Hibberd after Club 160 closed down.

A woman who answered the phone at City sauna said: "I don't want to say anything about Jill. I am the owner now."

Club 160 was listed as a "sauna" and on Sheffield.org.uk, a review said: "Club 160 is now under new management it has had a complete refurb homely atmosphere lovely girls of all ages special offers weekly come and join us and have some fun."

After Club 160 became City Sauna, Mrs Hibberd opened a new brothel called Fantasia just a few hundred metres away in the same road.

In some online listings it is described as a "relaxation therapy" business, however, in truth, it is a dingy premises with boarded-up windows, and has been a brothel specialising in women from eastern Europe.

Dingy: Fantasia with obscured windows in Attercliffe Road Sheffield, owned by Jill Hibberd.

On the Punting Wiki website, which logs and reviews brothels across the country, it said of Fantasia: "Long running and popular parlour. Due to the cheap prices and sleazy reputation, some describe it as a pump and dump parlour.

"The quality of girls varies wildly. Fantasia has a large number of Eastern European girls working there and a high turn over rate. Girls seem to be early 20s to late 30s. But it isn't unheard of for them to have older and larger ladies.

"Full sex seems to be available for as little as £25.

"Fantasia have expanded and have a VIP flat offering one on one services with some of their more popular girls."

GRUBBY: Customers at Fantasia were treated to these beds and showers.

FOR SALE: The Fantasia brothel was put on the market in May.

Fantasia also had its own Twitter page promoting 'escorts' who would visit clients.

Mrs Hibbered ran the limited company Fantasia (South Yorkshire) Limited since 2009 and Land Registry records show she paid £75,000 in cash for the Fantasia premises in 2015.

The property had just gone on the market with a guide price of £60,000 last month, not long before her murder, so may have closed.

When we phoned Fantasia today there was no answer.

A post mortem examination found Mrs Hibberd died from multiple stab wounds on May 31.

Neighbours found her body after they became suspicious because her lights were left on all night and her car was missing from the drive.

South Yorkshire Police are still trying to trace her red Audi TT car registration YM17 SYJ that was driven from her drive at around 9pm the night before her body was found.

An elderly neighbour said: "It is such a shock as this is such a nice area. Jill was friendly but had only lived here a year and no one knew her well.

"She lived on her own. She was quite glamorous-looking and I thought she was only in her 50s. She said she put money from a divorce into a beauty business.

"She seemed to work hard and went off to work first thing in the morning every day and came back in the evening."

*Lee Fueloep,40, of Willow Garth, Wombwell, has been charged with her murder.

He denied the offence at Sheffield Crown Court and was remanded into custody.

A 22-year-old Wakefield man arrested last Tuesday on suspicion of murder, burglary and theft has been released under investigation.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested yesterday on suspicion of perverting the course of justice in connection with the murder and later released still under investigation.
